About Me

Education

I am on my way to complete my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication with a pr track. I enjoy learning and exercising my brain. I currently attend Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville in Edwardsville, Ill. There is a possibility I will be furthering my education through graduate school upon my May 2013 graduation. I plan to one day become a public relations practitioner for a company where I feel comfortable and shares similar values. I am also interested in event planning/ special events coordinating. In my dream world I would love to one day be the owner of my own small business or possibly own a venue.

Internships

NFEDI have currently held two internships. At my first internship I was the Marketing and Communications Intern for the National Foundation for Ectodermal Dysplasias. I helped with the upkeep of their social media along with writing press release, pitiching to the media and even landed two news segments. One news segment was on Fox 2 News and the other was on KSDK Channel 5.

Chamber

I am currently completing my second internship at The Greater Belleville Chamber. I help with the production of the annual report and monthly newletters. I also update the photo albums on their website and help manage their Facebook Page

Volunteering

HabitatI enjoy giving back to the community. One of my biggest volunteer trips took place during the summer of 2012. I ventured to Trinidad & Tabago for a Habitat for Humanity Global Village trip. I have been on several other Habitat for Humanity trips and really believe in the organization's mission. My first interactions with Habitat occurred while studying at Western Kentucky University. The University has a great campus chapter which I was privileged to be the secretary of for three semseters. During my time with the campus chapter, I was part of the first ever campus chapter led Women Build.

I also volunteer at my parish. I have co-chaired a dinner auction benefiting the school/parish and also act as their blood drive coordinator.
